SNOW IN NEW JERSEY

An unexpected accumulation of snow occurred this morning in northern New Jersey. I'm sure there are more surprises in store for us today. Nevertheless I got off to a very early start and arrived at work about 6:39am. I got to work before the heavy snow activity and with that I felt fortunate not to have to deal with the morning rush hour headache. Sometimes the early bird DOES get the worm.

DO WHAT COMES NATURALLY

With today's uncertain unemployment market, it is a good idea that you take the initiative to do what you love. Save up what you can. Improvise where possible and acquire the tools you will need to make a start. Remember to get your foot in the door you need not be fancy from the start. Take my blog for example, I have not caught up with video blogging yet but I will...in due time. That is a goal of mine for the next 30 days. In fact I'm writing this blog from my blackberry cell phone - how cool is that!

Changing Seasons

This month of January has been filled with many surprises - tradgedy and triumph in Haiti due to the earthquake and the will of survivors to beat the odds.  The Jets are one win away from the Super bowl.  These past few weeks have been somewhat mild in the North East.  It is important to remember that bad times will not last forever. You will overcome the hurdles of life and even break through the brick walls that may be in your path.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I wanna rock right now!  The work week is just about over for most and it's time to get out there and hit the ski slopes, ice rinks, fitness centers.  Many new years resolution fitness promises will come to an end in a couple weeks.  For your own health I trust you will continue in the pursuit of health and well being.  It's amazing how the  wellness mentality can spread if you constantly share your good feeling about working out and exercising.  Don't be shy... spread the news and help motivate those around you.

Merry Christmas

Wow what a great day this has been!  Time with family, friends, significant persons is invaluable.  There are times when the person we connect with the most has to be physically away at this time.  In these times, we should draw upon our spiritual energy - it's more powerful than we may think.  The power of positive thinking and the power we have to recall our thoughts of happy times in our lives can be controlled.  Some use music to aid in the focus of this power that we humans have.  I just saw the movie AVATAR tonight and it was great.  Definitely had a theme of how we are all connected by an inner spiritual power that leads back to an incredible source of peace, courage, happiness, and love.  It is the energy that we call upon at times when things must be done for the greater good of us and our neighbors around us or for our family.  It is the energy that gets us over the hurdles that attempt to hinder our forward progress.  Stay focused and commit yourselves to keep trying until you get it right.

FOLLOW UP

In this day of unemployment and dismay I have noticed an escalating trend.  People don't take the time to follow-up.  It's a small courtesy and a simple gesture of respect to show that you're acknowledging a discussion that you had with someone.  Following up is the responsibility of both parties and both should agree on a date and time at which the follow-up discussion will take place.  Get in the habit of following up no matter if you are committing yourself to do something or agreeing with someone else to take some action.  In time you will see that following-up promotes progress and that progress promotes positive thinking - keeping you out of the rut.

The Holiday Season is Upon Us

Hold on to your hats and buy buy buy.  Tis the season to be jolly, however even in these times there are those who may be going through some difficult times.  Pay it forward when you can and share a positive outlook with someone.  Things are not as dire as they may seem because the time you have now is what you make it.  Be sure to be thankful for the little things - they all add up.  Obstacles to your progress are just there to show you and others how much it matters to you - keep moving in a positive direction even if you have to take a step back to regroup or re-evaluate your situation.
